London redux

If something is fun the first time, doesn’t it stand to reason that the second time will be fun, too?

That’s what I was thinking when I booked another ticket to London. Last Saturday was such a ball—pourquoi pas?—let’s do it again!

The weather was less cooperative this time—intermittently rainy, humid, sunny and cool—but also not a total washout.

Chris and I met in Notting Hill, strolled Westbourne Grove, and ogled many markets and sweets along the way.

But first things first: a refreshing cocktail at Beach Blanket Babylon.

We braved the crowds on Portabello Road, but then made like bananas and split for more dignified territory.

Namely, Belgravia…

(more window shopping and eating!)

… and the Royal Academy.

While the John Singer Sargent exhibition wasn’t as good as last week’s visit to Gagosian’s Picasso exhibition, it was still nice to get a dose of art.

And then finish the day with a nice glass of wine in a cute tapas bar.

Life is good.
